Cole turns 1!!!

Cole turned 1 on March 25.  Below are some pictures of him on his actual birthday (gray sweatsuit) and the weekend after his actual birthday at the park.  As you can see, March has unpredictable weather - with everyone needing sweaters one day and being in short sleeves three days later.  Cole got a pushtoy to help him learn how to walk on his birthday from Mommy, Daddy, and Carter.  He LOVED it immediately, and even though I wasn't sure he would be able to walk with it, he did with no problems!

As of his first birthday, Cole wasn't walking yet and had zero teeth!  Crazy, but true.  Carter also wasn't walking by his first birthday, and just had one little bottom tooth breaking through.  Both of my boys have been late bloomers thus far.  Cole preferred a bottle to a sippee cup at one year, and would rather have baby food fruits than just about anything else in the world.  My dad has gotten him started on oyster crackers, and he likes those, but he is very picky about meats, cheese, and veggies - basically anything with a texture other than a puree or a cracker.

It is impossible to put into words the happiness that this little boy has brought to our family over the past year.  Through the entire 12 months, he has been my "zen baby" - never really crying or fussing, always napping well, eating / drinking well, and having a smile on his face most of the time.  He is rolly-polly, and we still call him Coley Moley, Coca-Cola, Coley-Coley-Coley-Guacamole, and many more silly nicknames.  Cole adores his big brother and tries to mimic whatever Carter is doing.  He likes to play with cars, motorcycles, and trucks - something he has picked up on his own, as Carter is a sports fanatic.  He will sit and watch Curious George with Carter without complaint, and is an excellent car rider.  He is attached to his pacifier and his "snuggle blanket" and would prefer to have both in his hands at all times.  He is my joy and my pride - and I cannot adequately describe how much I love him!
