The house is in a cove, two story brick, with 4600 square feet, a 3 car garage, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 bonus rooms, 2 porches, an in ground pool, and lots of other great features. This was a foreclosure and needs lots of work but we view it as an opportunity to do things our way. Take a look and let us know what you think!
This is one of the bonus rooms - probably a place for Carter's toys...you are seeing half the room, and the other half is almost this big as well. There is a small walk-in attic space and a decent sized toy closet. We will be repainting most of the walls a neutral khaki color.
Hallway closet - great for storing any overflow toys or maybe my Christmas decorations :)
Upstairs guest bathroom...the most hideous wallpaper in the world! This will come out, the mirror will come off the wall and get replaced by a framed mirror. The toilet will get replaced, and we'll scrub the shower surround & tub and put up a shower curtain. We are installing custom furniture pieces in all the bathrooms for the sinks.
This is an extra bedroom but because it's so skinny, we are thinking of using it for an office / exercise room. Derrick has already ripped out all the old carpet and pad and we'll be replacing that soon with Stainmaster.
This is a bedroom facing the front of the house which is really sunny.
One of the kids' rooms that shares a jack & jill bath. The mural is going to be history - I just want neutral painted walls & new carpet in here.
Jack & Jill bath...will get a new color, a new mirror, and furniture piece with double sink.
Other bedroom off jack & jill bathroom. Again, painting over the mural and getitng new carpet and blinds. Those are the shower doors that were torn off in the bathroom, but we are replacing the tub and having a tile surround done in the shower.
Other bonus room / media room. This is right at the top of the stairs and has pretty glass paneled french doors that will stay open. We are hoping to get a projector and pull down screen installed between the closets and use this as a media room / place to watch football in the fall.
Entryway - this tile is getting demo'd and will be replaced by 18 inch squares. I like the front door but think I might paint it.
One of the porches at the back of the house....this one is right off the living room and is glassed in. It has speakers in the ceiling and leads to the pool. We're thinking this will be Derrick's bar / Alabama room.
One view of the pool...not sure if you can tell, but it's very, very green and nasty. We've got it about half-way drained already and will be pressure washing it, putting chemicals and fresh water in it, and closing it down for the winter.
Another view of the pool. It is a nice size, and I really like the brick surround.
Laundry room - is getting a new floor, new cabinets above the appliances on the right, a new shelf on the left, and a paint job.
The main part of the kitchen...we have already stripped this wallpaper. It is also getting new tile and new paint plus custom built cabinets and stainless steel appliances.
The hearth room part of the kitchen...the border has been stripped, a new fireplace insert is on order, it will get new tile, new curtains, and new paint. I am thinking of doing the small glass tiles around this fireplace...think it would be whimsical and pretty!
Another view of the master bedroom porch. It has scored concrete floors, which I love...they are just really dirty right now! It will be fun to sit out here in the fall with a book or my wonderful husband :)
Master bathroom - we have already stripped the wallpaper but have a ton of work to do. We have to replace the floor, redo the entire shower, install a jacuzzi, replace the mirrors and install the furniture pieces.
My closet...it doesn't look very big in this picture, but it is super nice!
Sitting room in the master bedroom...needs some sheetrock repair, the fireplace insert re-installed, mantle put back on, paint, and new carpet.
Master bedroom...love all the windows / doors and the natural light
Living room - needs a fireplace insert, the hardwood floor has to be replaced, and needs paint touch up - I like the color of the walls and love the built-ins.
This is the library...I have no idea what I will do in this room, but I'm thinking a couple of recliners, an ottoman, and nice bookshelf?? The hardwood needs to be replaced in this room as well.
